Linear Mint

Adding to their collection of hand-drawn motifs, Fort Street Studio’s Principals & Creative Directors Janis Provisor and Brad Davis debut their newest wool/silk rug design, LINEAR. The linear, all-over drawing with no repeat employs a fresh and fanciful hand. Over a background of wool abrash, silk lines flicker and enhance the whimsical mood of the design, so it is not static overall.  Like most of the artists’ work, it began on paper as a watercolor painting with drawing, transformed into a carpet design through Fort Street Studio’s propriety techniques.

The design is interpreted in hand processed, high altitude wool and cultivated silk, according to time-treasured Persian hand-knotting techniques. Meticulous hand-dyeing of the yarns produces complexity and depth of color which enrich the overall aspect of the carpet.
