Design Inspiration
Fort Street Studio, an industry leader in hand-knotted silk and wool carpets, debuts its newest foray into physical texture underfoot with GOLDEN EYE. The plush and soft pile is the foundation for this new design which co-creative director, Janis Provisor, painted while on holiday in Jamaica. She and her husband/business partner were staying at Goldeneye – Ian Fleming’s estate in Jamaica where he wrote all his James Bond stories! (It’s now a hotel & resort with private cottages.) The design is sultry as is the inspiration!
The carpet is handknotted in hand processed, high altitude wool and low gloss Mohair. The plush feel is slightly nomadic yet decadently luxurious.
