Allium Light

Fort Street Studio continues to extend its Drawn Lines collection with ALLIUM LIGHT, a new luxurious hand-knotted carpet from Principals and Creative Directors Janis Provisor and Brad Davis. The design is based on an “automatic” drawing by Provisor, who used a ball-point pen to radiate lines out from the center of the page towards the edges. As the scheme is not symmetrical, the crumbly texture of the hand-drawn lines & pin-points are the focus of the design, rather than the layout. The design is reminiscent of an Allium plant, an ornamental spherical umbel.

The design is interpreted hand processed high-altitude wool, using time treasured Persian hand-knotting techniques. Meticulous dyeing of the yarns produce complexity and depth of color which enrich the overall aspect of the carpet.
