TOKYO carpet design is an homage to vintage Japanese Kasuri Ikat textiles. The  layout of the Ikat motifs remain fairly  constant throughout the design while the colors shift in depth from top to bottom providing a hint of asymmetry.

The larger solid shapes in the design are executed in either cut pile silk or flatwoven silk according to color. The sunken parts create interest and add a third dimension to an already dynamic pattern.

The rug is hand-knotted with hand processed High-Altitude Wool and Silk and customizable in color, size and shape.
