Fort Street Studio, the originator of painterly and artistic carpet designs hand-knotted in wild silk, introduces its newest watercolor-inspired design, DESU. With organic references to nature, this painterly design works in sections of colors to create layers, trisecting divisions of space that meld together as one. The design is interpreted in expertly hand-knotted sumptuous wild silk and executed with the subtle color combinations and watercolor bleeds that are the hallmark of Fort Street Studio’s designs.

This contemporary rug design is interpreted in wild Dandong silk according to time treasured Persian hand-knotting techniques. Color-precise yarn dyeing enables the weavers to execute the studio’s painterly designs with watercolor bleeds and the illusion of three-dimensional, geometric texture. Wild Dandong silk is especially plush and durable, and when hand-cut provides the carpets with a sophisticated suede-like finish that subtly enhances the design’s modern, unique, and evocative motifs.
